Anyone who needs to know what a competitor did before the client asks
Competitor tracking with alerts the day something breaks out
By Michael, Founder, FYPNow · Updated 2026-09-03
Checking a competitor's profile tells you what they posted. It does not tell you which post is currently taking off, and by the time a video is obviously winning it is usually saturating. Competitor tracking watches the accounts you care about continuously, refreshes recent posts four times a day, and emails you when a video surges on both velocity and against that creator's own median — so you hear about it on day one, not in next month's report.

What this replaces
- •You find out a competitor had a hit when a client sends you the link.
- •Manually checking profiles catches what was posted, not what is accelerating.
- •Once-a-day metrics are stale for a video whose whole run lasts 72 hours.
- •A big account's ordinary post looks impressive; a small account's outlier does not — unless something is comparing each video to its own creator's baseline.

How it works
- 1Add the accounts you want watched. Creator tracking is unlimited on every plan.
- 2Metrics refresh daily across the catalog, plus four times a day over everything posted in the last seven days.
- 3A daily scan flags a video that is both growing sharply between snapshots and an outlier against that creator's own median — two conditions, so ordinary posts from big accounts do not trigger it.
- 4You get an email digest, and a "Breaking out" feed in the app.
- 5A weekly recap email summarises each tracked creator: views gained, engagement gained, new posts, viral hits.
What you get
Which plan you need
Tracking creators is unlimited on every tier, so the plan only decides how many of their videos you analyze in depth.
Questions
How many creators can I track?
As many as you like, on every plan. Tracking an account is cheap; analyzing its videos in depth is what plans meter.
What counts as a breakout?
A video has to clear two bars at once: growing sharply between snapshots, and performing as an outlier against that creator's own recent median. Both, so a large account's routine post does not set it off.
Do I need a paid plan for alerts?
No. Breakout alerts run on every tier, including free accounts, as long as you track at least one creator.
How fresh are the numbers?
Recent posts — anything from the last seven days — are re-checked four times a day. Older videos refresh daily.
