How to Calculate TikTok Follower Growth

Your follower growth rate is simply the new followers you gained divided by the followers you started with, times 100. So if you began a week with 10,000 followers and added 300, that is (300 / 10,000) × 100 = a 3% weekly growth rate. Growth compounds: next week that same 3% applies to your new, larger total, so each week adds slightly more followers than the last. This calculator applies your weekly rate week over week across the months you choose, which is why the projected total curves upward instead of growing in a straight line.

What's a Good TikTok Growth Rate?

There is no single magic number, because growth depends a lot on where you are starting. A brand new account can grow extremely fast off the back of one video that lands on the For You Page, so early percentages are often huge and uneven. For a more established account, a sustained 1-5% growth per week is a healthy, realistic pace to aim for. Treat this as general guidance rather than a hard rule: consistency and compounding over months matter far more than chasing one viral spike.

How to Grow Faster

The fastest way to move your growth rate is to make more of the content that already works for you: post consistently, lean into your best-performing hooks and formats, and double down on the topics your audience saves and shares. For a deeper playbook, read our TikTok growth strategy guide.
