How-tos/Create a custom niche

Create a custom niche

Your own keywords, refreshed nightly alongside the 23 curated niches — so the wall covers your corner of TikTok, not everyone's.

The curated niches are shared by every fypnow account. A custom niche is yours: you pick the name and the keywords, and it refreshes every night in the same wall, sorted and saved the same way.

Creating one

  1. Go to Viral Trends → Niches.
  2. Click New niche at the end of the niche chip row.
  3. Give it a name — this is just a label for you, like "Sourdough baking".
  4. Add 1 to 3 keywords. These are what we actually search TikTok for.
  5. Save. You'll see Pulling your first videos now while the first batch lands.

Choosing keywords

Keywords are the whole feature — the name is cosmetic, the keywords decide what shows up. Two things to know:

  • A multi-word phrase is one keyword. football boots searches for that phrase; it does not split into "football" and "boots".
  • Fewer, sharper keywords beat three vague ones. Each niche gets the same fixed search budget per night, so three keywords each get a shallower pass than one keyword would.
Start with one specific keyword and see what lands. You can always add more — editing is free and instant.

Editing a niche

Use the edit icon on any custom niche chip to change its name or keywords. Renaming takes effect immediately.

Changing keywords is more interesting. Removing one deletes only the videos that no remaining keyword covers — so if your niche was singing + karaoke and you drop karaoke, you lose the karaoke-only videos and keep everything singing still covers.

Editing never triggers an immediate re-fetch. New keywords are picked up on the next nightly run — you'll see Keywords updated — refreshing tomorrow until then. This is deliberate: it's what keeps a niche's cost flat no matter how often you tune it.

How many you get

Custom niches are a standing allowance per plan, not a monthly meter — a niche holds its slot for as long as you keep it. The New niche chip shows 3/3 used (or similar) when you've filled your allowance. See Plans & limits for the per-plan numbers.

A niche needs an active or trialing subscription to keep refreshing. The chip will tell you when it can't: upgrade to unlock if your plan includes none, or resubscribe to unlock if your subscription has lapsed.

If your subscription lapses or you downgrade

Nothing is deleted. A niche that falls outside what you're currently paying for is marked Paused — resubscribe to resume: it stops refreshing, but the niche and every video already in it stay exactly where they are. Resubscribe and it picks back up on the next nightly run.

If a downgrade leaves you over your allowance, we keep the most recently refreshed niches active and pause the remainder rather than choosing for you.

There's no delete yet — if you're done with a niche, edit its keywords and reuse the slot for something else.
