TikTok slideshows

How fypnow reads a TikTok slideshow slide by slide, where to find slideshows in the app, what one costs, and what it does not claim.

Updated Sep 27, 2026·4 min read

A TikTok slideshow is a swipeable set of still images, usually with text on them, posted with a sound. fypnow gives slideshows their own breakdown rather than the one it runs on a video, because what makes a slideshow work is different: the cover has to stop the scroll on its own, and every slide has to earn the next swipe.

Two kinds of slideshow

  • Photo slideshows — the swipeable kind, with a tiktok.com/@user/photo/… link. fypnow reads every slide in order, plus the sound.
  • Slideshows TikTok renders as a video — photos TikTok turned into a playing post with one of its templates. fypnow reads them slide by slide as well, and cuts a still for each slide so they look like a photo slideshow. Until the stills are ready, the result page shows each slide as a text card.

Both are labelled Slideshow everywhere in the app.

Analyze a slideshow

  1. Click Analyze video in the sidebar.
  2. Paste the slideshow's link (tiktok.com/@user/photo/…).
  3. Hit Analyze video and follow it in the Activity drawer, like any other post.

What you get

  • Slide by slide — for every slide, the text on the image, what the image shows, how text-heavy it is, and the job it does: hook, setup, value, proof, payoff or call to action.
  • The cover — what slide 1 says and shows, and the kind of hook it uses.
  • The narrative — how the set is structured, and which slide pays off the cover's promise.
  • Aesthetic and sound — the look of the set and the role the sound plays.
  • Engagement drivers — what makes people swipe through, save, share and comment.
  • Three scores — Cover, Swipe-through and Save-worthiness.
  • Improvements — specific changes to make on your next one.
Swipe-through is the model's score from reading the slides, not a measurement. TikTok doesn't publish where people stop swiping.

Finding slideshows: the Slideshows filter

Wherever you browse posts, an All / Videos / Slideshows filter sits above the grid: in Video Analysis, on the Niches wall (including its Library view), and in Search. Each place remembers its own choice, so filtering the Niches wall to slideshows doesn't also filter Video Analysis. Every slideshow card carries a Slideshow badge, with the slide count for photo slideshows.

On the Niches wall and on your Viral Content Agents, slideshows are ranked by the same multiplier as every other post: views against the creator's follower count. Cards there show the cover; run Why it went viral to see every slide.

Your Growth scorecard grades your own slideshows against other slideshows, on cover, swipe-through, slide count and save-worthiness. Breakout alerts tag a tracked creator's slideshow as a slideshow.

Slideshow scripts

Press Make this for me on a slideshow you analyzed, or pick Slideshow as the format in Scripts. The script comes back as numbered slide cards in swipe order: the text for each image, its role and a visual direction, plus a caption, hashtags and a sound suggestion. See Generate a script.

What it costs

A slideshow uses one slot of your catalog cap, however many slides it has. Browsing slideshows on the walls and saving them to your library are unmetered. See Plans & limits.

What isn't supported

  • A slideshow has no transcript, no scene timing and no hook length, because it has no scenes.
  • There is no per-slide drop-off data: TikTok doesn't publish it.
  • Slideshows are TikTok only. YouTube Shorts and uploaded drafts are always treated as videos.
  • Instagram carousels aren't analyzed.
  • Niches wall cards show the cover, not every slide.
  • Hashtag trend search in Viral Trends doesn't tell slideshows apart from videos yet.
If any slide can't be downloaded, the slideshow fails as a whole rather than being analyzed with gaps.
